Dear families, staff and students:

Stories concerning the appearance of aggressive staph infections or MRSA have appeared almost daily in our local newspapers. Earlier this year our school nurse, Mrs. Ann Zgolinski, sent information home with your children describing the identification and treatment of MRSA.

The Haldane Central School District has been following the guidelines suggested by the NY State Health Department for maintaining a healthy school environment. Those guidelines are typically followed daily regardless of any special health alerts. If and when we receive other pertinent information, we will alert our families, students and staff.

Attached are two web sites that I recently received from the NYS Education Department concerning MRSA that you may want to visit.

If you have any questions or concerns please call my office, your building principal or Mrs. Zgolinski.

Sincerely,

Mark Villanti, Ed.D.
Superintendent of Schools
