HALDANE MIDDLE SCHOOL

June 16, 2008

Dear Eighth Grade Parents:

As you are aware The Moving-Up Ceremony will be held on Tuesday, June 24th at 8:30 AM in the cafeteria.  Parents, faculty and guests are invited.  Eighth Grade students should report to school at the normal time to clean out lockers.  After lockers are clean students will report to their homeroom teacher.

Students will proceed into the cafeteria and join their family and friends for a small brunch at 8:30 AM.  At 9:00 AM the Ceremony will begin with the Pledge of Allegiance.  The Middle School Coordinator will welcome parents, students and guests.  A few speeches will be given.  The Presidential Achievement and Excellence Awards will be presented to eligible students.  Following the awards, all students will be called individually to receive the Certificate of Promotion.

Students are asked to dress appropriately for the occasion.  Boys should wear nice pants and a collared shirt, no sneakers or jeans.  Girls should wear a dress, nice pants, or a skirt.  No spaghetti straps or short skirts should be worn.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Julia Sniffen
Middle School Coordinator
